August 26, 2013 Resistencia, Argentina

Goat head, sheep head? YUMMY!

I don´t remember what pics i sent last week to tell you more about but this week is just some random ones and one from our baptism this Saturday! It sounds like oak city was awesome! I felt the slightest tingle of jealousy but really i am not "trunky" as i have a year more of this and i don´t wanna go home yet because i have sooooo much more to learn. and let me tell you, i am definitely learning! This week was a challenge, but we're doing great! It is super cold here by the way!!!!!!! i only got a couple hours of sleep last night because i couldn´t feel my feet! I woke up really ticked off because of it, but quickly gained my composure and read my scriptures:) This week was crazy what with planning our baptism and all and our shower head broke and we ran out of gas. But our bishop saved the day and brought us gas after a couple days so all was well. It has been cold all week though and not having hot water was pretty brutal, but at least we can heat up water now :) I can´t believe hna dean is still in washington! that's crazy! Thanks for giving me hna Crawley's address. i hope i can find the correo soon because i need to send some letters. Well it sounds like everyone is great! I whined more than i wanted to in this email but i was kinda on edge before we got here. oh we have 30 visa waiters coming this week and 15 are hermanas so we are gonna have a mini translado this week. I hope they split our area because it is gigantic! We spend a lot of the day traveling.  Well i love you sooooo much! and you don´t have to worry about me getting trunky. i do look forward to the day you pick me up and i can talk in spanish fluently...whoa that seems like forever away and yet right around the corner! I love you dad! Make sure the family also knows how much i care about them. i never forget to pray for you all and i know heavenly father is looking after you all! I miss you but i know this work is so important,i wish more people would realize that our message is crucial to their lives. What we do now affects our life after and this life is a time to grow and it will be hard but without the gospel it would seem near impossible! Thanks for always remaining fiel! I love you with all my heart and thank you so much for always emailing me and keeping me in your prayers :)

August 19, 2013 Transferred to Resistencia, Argentina

Reinna with her new companion Hermana Johansen

Oh dad my week....yep transfers happened and i am now in resistencia! I am finishing the training of Hermana Johansen...yep I am with another gringa in a massive area. I was kinda freaking out the first two days majorly! Hna johansen was in the mtc with me and she waited in ohio a transfer more thanme but she is here now and i am now her senior companion. (Could be a little uncomfortable since we started our mission at the same time, but we'll work together well I'm sure!) I am pretty overwhelmed but i know the lord called me to do this so i can do it, but it has been a rough week. My new area is gigantic! probably 3 times the size of my other area and i still haven't seen huge parts of it. We are the only missionaries in our ward, but our ward is super awesome! They all want to help us sooo much. Oh so yesterday our shower broke so now we are all about bucket baths, my companion thinks bucket baths are fun....i think everyone knows this, but i think showers are the best thing ever! Especially when it is cold and yep it has been chilly lately. The first cold day here in Resistencia was my first day here, well according to the people but that is okay with me because that means the summer won't hit us for a little bit...i am so scared of the summer here as everyone here talks about how hot and awful it is. Yay :/ Lets see what else...Oh we have a baptism this Saturday. The hermana who I replaced just went home and she was here my first day so she filled me in a ton because my companion now doesn't understand everything yet, so some things she doesn't know because her companion always took care of it. I am understanding way more now, but talking is hard, I can talk but i know there are some grammatical things that i am not using yet, like subjunctive. I recognise it when people are talking but it is way harder to use myself. Yep that has pretty much been my week, chaos and tons of stress. I know i can survive in argentina with the amount of spanish i know but i am more concerned about helping people recieve our message...thankfully we have a lot of members who want to accompany us and well, we will learn how to really help people better in time. Soooo yep. I am so glad you and Connelly had soo much fun in utah! I am excited to hear what all you did:) You are a driving maniac! Did connelly drive at all? How is connelly? How is austi? how is uncle bruce? Grandma and grandpa quick? Mom? grandma Judy? hey i love you soooo much! tell the family how much i love them too :) I pray for you every day and again i love you with all my heart! I hope you have a great week!

August 12, 2013 - Formosa, Argentina

Reinna and Hermana Baker

Oh hearing about your week almost made me homesick but i know where i am supposed to be but i must say there are moments:) I just try to focus up and get to work. Waterskiing does sound nice though! Your hike sounds like a doozy! is this mountain near chopaka? (Connelly and I went on a hike to Tiffany Mtn, south of Chopaka) To answer your questions about laundry and food prep, we have a member wash some of our clothes and we don´t have to pay her but we still do some of them so that takes a lot of time and it has been on the colder side so it is painful on my hands, but it hasn´t been so bad. We also have lunch with a member every day and we have learned how to make empanadas but most of the time we show up and the food is prepared. We have an hour at their house and so they always do everything before hand or they don´t want our help, but don´t worry i am paying  attention how they make things:)  Oh the food though, it is not that different than state side stuff like tons of noodles, rice and meat...loads and loads of meat! I must say i am just about used to the meat but i go through phases of absolutely hating meat because we eat it so stinking much! This last week was awesome because we ate way more vegtables okay it wasn´t that much more but they we there.

Well it sounds like you had a really awesome trainer on your mission then if he is not a mission president! That is super cool! How is jared (Nelson) doing? So this last week was kinda tough on the teaching front because we have two guys who are all about the bible and want to almost bible bash by exchanging arguments via scriptures when we meet! So it has been a challenge to teach them, but they came to church and there is hope that things will go good with them.

whoa my computer was freaking out! So transfers are this week...yep i am freaking out! I am not sure how many sisters are coming in but everyone keeps telling me i am gonna train and that scares me. I know i could do it and it would be crazy hard, but whoa. We find out tomorrow soooo yep i am nervous. I just wanna know now so i can tell you but chances are that i won´t be staying with my companion. Well hey i am gonna try and get some pictures on this dang computer. I love you soo much!!!!! Have tons of fun in Utah and tell Connelly and Austi and Bruce (both of them) that i love them soooo much! I pray for you all, all the time! oh i am not sick anymore :) But have tons of fun and i am excited to let you know what is happening on this end next week!

ps i haven´t been attacked by a dog in a couple weeks! life is good! and your apple cider saved me and my comp this week! love you with all my heart!

August 5, 2013 Formosa, Argentina

Hey!!!!! So I brought my cord to send you pictures, because last week the post office people wouldn´t let me send my SD card, but this computer doesn´t have a port thing to plug my camera into :( We had another baptism though!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brian Dominguez we knew him for a whole 3 days before his baptism, but he had been going to church off and on in Cordoba with his mom and well he wanted to be baptised so we taught everything in two days and got his interview done and then he was in the water!

I am so glad that my email made your week. It was weird not writing last Monday and I didn´t get my full time in but it was alright. So you know i have been off and on sick so far with fevers and grossness(No, we didn't know) but i talked to a doctor last week because i got another fever and loads of snot so i have been on some antibiotics all week and i am feeling way better! I am still a little wiped out, but i think by the time i finish my antibiotics i will be a new person...so transfers are 9 days away... My companion and i get along shockingly well and we got a call last week from the assistants and they said we could very well be setting records with our numbers. We get stuff done and i am scared to get a lazy companion but at least now i definitely know how to work because even in our slow weeks my companion and i have the highest numbers of lessons taught. And whoa the lord has been blessing us with miracles! We have met so many amazing people.

I am so sorry you haven´t gotten pictures yet! I feel horrible(Reinna operates on too much guilt...I only mentioned it would be nice to receive some pics). i am gonna put a package together for you all so you can get some Argentine stuff and some pictures and some letters. Hey so if you are gonna send a package, i need some good American deodorant and some American candy. Okay so i have been looking all over and i can not find good shoes! I need a pair of nice flats that won´t die within the first day because all the shoes here are awful! So if you can, i am in need..i can´t think of anything else that i need...maybe more v necks, mine are already stretched out because of the lack of dryers here. Everything was in the last package you sent. It looked like no one even touched it :) Thanks mom for the maria stickers!

Oh the mission split last month so i am definitely in resistencia and not the new Posadas one, but that just means we are gonna have to go up to iguazu falls when you pick me up ;) I love you sooooo much! Hey make sure connelly knows i think he is a stud and to keep up the good work! And seriously i want detailed letters about his football training! Get that kid to write me more, it doesn´t have to be a ton i just wanna hear what he is up to, like who is this mystery girl that he says is his girlfriend?  Have tons of fun on your hike! I love you dad!!!!!!!!
